and the Centre for the Evolution of Global Business & Institutions (CEGBI)
The 2010 annual conference of the Association of Business Historians will be hosted
by the York Management School and CEGBI, from 16 to 17 July inclusive.
Accommodation and all academic sessions will be on the University of York’s main
campus.
The conference programme committee welcomes proposals in all areas of business
history covering a diverse range of periods and countries but is particularly keen to
invite papers in the following areas:
Business impact of War; Business relations with LDC’s; Business response to
international financial crises; foreign direct investment; Global business, including
multinational enterprises; global marketing, including brand management; Global
networks (including global transport and global communication systems);
Globalisation and its impact on corporate governance; International corporate social
responsibility; Institutional restraints to trade; International supply chain management
and global logistics.
The committee invites proposals for individual papers and for entire sessions (1.5
hours). For each proposed paper please send a short abstract (name, institutional
affiliation, postal and email addresses) of 300-400 words to:

Proposals must be received by 1 March, 2010, and notification of acceptance will
be sent by 1 May 2010. Further details of the conference programme and events will
