NEP Blog in NEP-HIS!
Publicado el 19-01-10
Dear NEP-HIS subscriber,
As an experiment, I have just started a blog to encourage discussions about papers posted on NEP-HIS. Every week I will pick one paper and invite everyone to discuss it (or just watch the discussion). The blog is accessible at nephist.wordpress.com (please note there is a T)
This blog is the fourth forum of this kind for NEP. With this experiment, weat NEP want to see whether we can harness the power of blogs for scientific purposes. In Economics in general and Kevin Tennet in Business and Economic History (http://kdtennent.blogspot.com) in particular, blogs focus on current events and politics, but discuss little current research. This is unfortunate, as this forum could help in pushing the research frontier, or
at least disseminate it faster.
As this is an experiment, there is no link to it in your weekly emails with working papers, monthly emails of author statistics, or on the NEP pages. SoI encourage you to bookmark the blog (there is an RSS feed for reminders and notices of new posts).
Please remember there are over 80 weekly NEP reports (see http://nep.repec.org) and you can make institutional and/or individual
contributions (see http://nep.repec.org/etc/available.html). For the limited
set of blogs discussing research in Economics, see econacademics.org/.
I take this opportunity to thank you all or the support and encouragement to continue expanding this service. Moreover, my appreciation to Deirdre
McClosky for rekindling the idea of blogs and insisting that the NEP Team
should have an on-line discussion.
Best wishes
Bernardo
PS This week's report is slightly longer than usual because hardware
problems kept NEP down for ten days or so
