The Executive Board of the AEHE would like to announce that the upcoming IX Meeting of Teaching Economic History (Meeting de Didactica Economic History -EDHE) will be held on June 24 - 25, 2010, in Toledo, in the Facultad de Ciencias Jurídicas y Sociales, University of Castilla-La Mancha. The local organization is run by members of the Area of History and Economic Institutions, Department of Spanish and International Economics, Econometrics and History and Economic Institutions (Historia e Instituciones Económicas, Departamento de Economía Española e Internacional, Econometría e Historia e Instituciones Económicas). The sessions, topics and debates will be announced shortly via the web.
The challenge of the European Higher Education has lead to extensive work on the Economics and Business curriculum as well as in the didactic innovation of issues & subjects in the field of Economic History. In addition, from 2010-2011 onwards, new curricula should start in every Spanish university. Accordingly, the AEHE Executive Board proposes an agenda for the IX Meeting of Teaching Economic History which includes an analysis of what economic history and business studies offer to the new curricula; and the methods and global results of trials on Economic History and Business degrees. It also offers an overview of other European countries to find out more about their state of the art, and, finally, the presentation of experiences of the European Higher Education Area in the fields of our discipline. This latter approach being a call for colleagues to talk about their experiments in educational innovation.
The deadline to submit both a title and summary of proposals for papers to the IX Meeting of Teaching Economic History (to be held in Toledo June 24 - 25, 2010) is January 31, 2010. Acceptance of papers will be announced before February 16. Final delivery of communications will be April 30, 2010.
